The Commissioner of the Revenue is a constitutional officer elected for a four-year term by general election. The Commissioner of Revenue staff creates and maintains the County land book; accepts and reviews applications for Land Use, Tax Relief for the Elderly & Disabled, and Real Estate exemption for Veterans; provides personal property, business property, business license, meals tax, and excise tax assessments; and provides adjustments when necessary to any assessment. Also, oversees the Assessment office and assist citizens with filing of State Income Tax.
