The Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court has jurisdiction in cases involving children and family members.

Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court has jurisdiction in cases involving children and family members. These cases involve the following:

  • Abandoned children
  • Child abuse or neglect
  • Crimes committed by a minor
  • Crimes committed by one family member against another
  • Foster care
  • Juvenile delinquency
  • Juvenile traffic offenses
  • Runaways and truants
  • Spousal abuse
  • Support enforcement
  • Visitation and custody of minor children

Court is held eight sessions per week. In addition, mediation is held every Friday in an attempt to eliminate the need for a court trial.
